Kaleidoscope is a conductorless orchestra dedicated to enriching lives through exhilarating concert experiences, artistic excellence, musician leadership, and connecting with the diverse communities of Los Angeles. In this program, they will present a diverse repertoire of works from Baroque to Contemporary, including Bach, Shin, Coleman, Adolphe, Weston, Snowden, and Mozart.
Students from Colburn’s Piano Seminar, a summer program for advanced pianists, perform intimate programs of varied repertoire.
Join us for an early summer concert! Musical Director Liz Kinnon will lead Colburn’s Adult Jazz Workshops in a mix of swing, be-bop, contemporary, and Latin-flavored tunes. Repertoire includes standards by such icons as Charlie “Bird” Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Luis Bonfa, Horace Silver, Cal Tjader, and others.

Jun Asai presents a solo piano recital, opening with Beethoven’s penultimate Piano Sonata, Op. 110, followed by Rachmaninoff’s Corelli Variations and two of Liszt’s Transcendental Etudes—Mazeppa and Feux follets. Rounding out the program is Ravel’s piano transcription of La valse.
