The Cello Choir is an entry-level ensemble for the Community School’s pre-college orchestra program. Appropriate for both Suzuki and traditional cello students, emphasis is placed on introducing orchestral performance techniques, developing musicianship, and reinforcing reading skills. Approximately 16 student musicians are accepted each year.
All new and returning students must audition for placement.
Weekly on Wednesdays, 6–6:40 pm

For students interested developing their skills and technique in a supportive environment, check out Cello Choir I and II. Auditions may be required.
Participants must study privately. No previous orchestral experience is necessary.
Minimum Age Requirement
Cello Choir: 3rd grade; must be eight years old, as of September 1, 2020
Recommended Level of Playing
Scherzo, C. Webster (Suzuki Vol. 3) and ability to read simple rhythms in first position
