Access to Campus

Throughout the pandemic, the Colburn School has carefully monitored COVID-19 locally as well as county, state, and federal guidelines regarding educational institutions.

With safety still foremost in mind, we have developed protocols to protect our community as we begin to come back to campus. Thank you in advance for carefully following our guidelines below. We look forward to welcoming you back to campus!

Before you go

Students should come alone, if possible, to help control density on campus. Minors may be accompanied by one parent or guardian, if necessary. No additional guests are allowed at this time. In order to participate in any class, the parent or guardian must provide proof that they are fully vaccinated. Community School and Trudl Zipper Dance Institute students and families must have completed our COVID-19 Agreement and Waiver at the time of registration.

A daily health check is required for faculty and staff accessing the Colburn campus even though security staff will no longer be verifying that it has been completed. You can access our Daily Health Questionnaire and complete the health check at home before you leave for campus.

When you arrive

If arriving by car with parking lot access, students and visitors should enter Grand Parking Lot 1 and present the results of your LiveSafe health check to Colburn security.

If you are not driving, enter the Olive Building from the Plaza and show the results of your health check to Colburn security in the lobby.

On-campus safety protocols

  • Wear face masks in all common areas of campus. Face coverings are required for all lessons, rehearsals, and performances involving more than one person.
  • Do not eat indoors. Designated eating areas are outdoors in the Plaza and Café seating area.
  • Do not using any cleaning products on the pianos. Our production assistants and piano technology staff will be cleaning equipment frequently. If you wish to bring your own cleaning wipes, they may be used on doorknobs and furniture. They cannot be used on the piano as they damage the instrument.
  • Only students and vaccinated parents/guardians are permitted inside Colburn buildings. All others are invited to wait on the Plaza or in their vehicle in the garage.
