Conduct Us

11:30 am–12:30 pm

Step up to the podium and lead a small chamber orchestra as their maestro. No prior experience necessary—just have fun.

Pay to Play Duet

1–2 pm
South Plaza

Drop some coins or bills into a jar to give our two Conservatory musicians instructions on how or what to play. They’ll respond immediately to your request. All funds received will support need-based scholarships for the Community School of Performing Arts.

Learn to Dance

2–3 pm
Zipper Hall

Learn some simple steps with faculty from the Community School of Performing Arts dance department. No dance experience is necessary, and children and adults are welcome to participate.


Concert Choir Open Rehearsal

3–4 pm
Mayman Hall

Members of the Community School's public performance choir share their weekly rehearsal time with our Grand Avenue guests. Pop in to hear them work on songs for their upcoming concerts.


Jumpstart Young Musicians Open Rehearsal

4–5 pm
Zipper Hall

Hear the promising young artists of our Jumpstart Young Musicians Band as they take the stage with Director Huei-Yu Pan. These fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students take classes at Colburn through a partnership with 15 Los Angeles Unified School District schools.

Meet the Harpsichord
11 am–12 pm
Zipper Hall lobby

Hear a professional harpsichordist play this stringed relative of the piano. Afterwards, guests can try playing this distinguished Baroque instrument for themselves.
