Celebrate Colburn 2017

Annual Gala, April 21

We loved celebrating with you at the 2017 Celebrate Colburn Annual Gala. Your support helped us raise over $1.2 million, ensuring the sustainability of our outstanding music education programs. Over 1,200 concertgoers were in the audience for the concert, and 375 patrons joined us at Vibiana to celebrate Colburn and the performing arts. We congratulate the 2017 Celebrate Colburn gala co-chairs: Bea and Paul Bennett, Adele and Gordon Binder, and David D. Colburn.

An Enchanting Night

The evening began at Walt Disney Concert Hall, with a stunning program featuring Colburn Dance Academy students in a world premiere choreography by Millepied to the music of Irving Berlin. Plus, the Colburn Orchestra masterfully performed Bernstein’s Overture to Candide and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suite under the baton of Christian Arming.

The party moved to the elegant Vibiana event space in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, where we honored internationally acclaimed dancer, choreographer, and Colburn Dance Academy Artistic Advisor Benjamin Millepied, and Alyce de Roulet Williamson, one of Los Angeles’s most respected and beloved philanthropic leaders.

We are deeply grateful to Colburn students, faculty, leadership, honorees and guests for being a part of such an unforgettable evening—and we are already looking forward next year. Save the date: the next Celebrate Colburn will be on Friday, April 20, 2018.
