Parents of Colburn Community School Students
Parental involvement is a critical contributing factor for success at the Colburn Community School of Performing Arts. On these pages, you’ll learn more about our services, campus, and other information important to the Colburn community.
We want our students to feel comfortable so they can focus on their studies and enjoy their experiences on the Colburn School campus. Safety remains our utmost priority, so in addition to having an on-campus security staff presence, we’ve instituted various policies.
Visitors to Colburn
Whether you’re here to enjoy one of our numerous performances, to visit the Colburn School library, or dine in the Colburn Café, you’re welcomed to park in Colburn’s Lot 3, Athena Parking, located on Second Street between Olive and Hill Streets. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Our security officers are available to accompany students and visitors to parking areas or across the plaza to wait for transportation between 10 pm and 2:30 am seven days a week. Make a reservation to be escorted by calling the security office at (213) 621-4500.
Informacast is an alert notification system that communicates emergencies to the Colburn School community through text messages. In the event of an emergency, including fire or active shooter, text messages will notify you of the nature of the emergency, what to do during the emergency, and when the situation is resolved and safe.
Informacast is available to all of the Colburn School community, including students and parents of the Community School of Performing Arts. You can register for the service by texting “#emergencynotification” to (818) 423-4168. Contact Security Director Sandra Gendron with any questions or for assistance in registering at email@example.com.
Emergency Phone System
You’ll find emergency phones, indicated with blue lights, throughout campus and parking structures. These phones directly connect you with the campus security office. You can also seek assistance by calling (213) 621-4500.
We ask drivers to request a parking decal from the security operations center.
Lost and Found
If you think you’ve left behind a personal belonging, check for it at the security office, which is where items found without an owner are stored. Be prepared to offer evidence of ownership. Also, you can file a report of lost items with a security officer.
Practice Room Access
The Colburn School has state-of-the-art practice rooms that can be reserved for up to two hours each day for Community School students taking private lessons.
