Beethoven 2020: Grand Piano Series

Colburn Presents Beethoven 250

The Stories Behind the Sonatas: A Journey with Beethoven

Celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday with the Grand Piano Series by discovering the human side of the great composer. Experience a musical and spiritual journey through the phases of Beethoven’s life when young artists from the Colburn Conservatory of Music perform his 32 piano sonatas in the order of Opus numbers. Pre-concert talks with Mark Travis, the New York Philharmonic’s Associate Director of Media Production, provide insights into the time and place they were written, providing a new way of experiencing these well-loved works. This is Colburn’s inaugural performance with the Grand Piano Series.

The Grand Piano Series has been founded by Milana Strezeva and Raniero Tazzi to bring concerts featuring the extraordinary literature of piano to Naples, Florida.
