Professional Level Programs

The Trudl Zipper Dance Institute is now offering professional and college level Cunningham Technique classes.

On Mondays and Wednesdays from 1–2:30 pm, Modern Chair Tamsin Carlson will teach professional and college level Cunningham Technique classes, along with guest faculty and live percussion accompaniment. Tamsin Carlson was an understudy in the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and a faculty member at the Cunningham school.

Jennifer Goss
Cello Instructor

Jennifer Goss, cellist, is a native of California, where she received her training in the San Francisco Bay area from Margaret Rowell and Irene Sharp, and earned a BA in German and Music from Pacific Union College.

Yoko Mizuno
Dance Accompanist

Yoko enjoys teaching various levels of students, is a freelance accompanist, and has been a ballet accompanist for the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute at The Colburn School since September 2011.

Kathy Sawada
Piano Faculty, Music Theory Faculty

Kathy Sawada has taught piano and music theory classes at the Colburn School’s Community School of Performing Arts since 1990.

Darren Mulder
Trumpet Faculty

Darren Mulder received his Bachelor of Music in music education from California State University at Long Beach and his Master of Music in trumpet performance from the University of Southern California
