The Colburn Baroque Ensemble is joined by renowned seismologist, baroque musician, and composer Dr. Lucy Jones for an innovative program centered around the climate crisis. Performed against a backdrop of climate-focused art and media, the music of Rebel, Purcell, Gabrieli, Telemann, and more is paired with narration by Dr. Jones to paint a picture of the current crisis and the actions we can take to minimize it. The concert also features Dr. Jones’s work In Nomine Terra Calens (In the Name of a Warming Earth), in which she has musically represented the rising temperature of the planet from 1880 to 2017.
