Join us as we confer degrees at the Conservatory of Music’s 2024 Commencement. The ceremony will feature a keynote address by renowned violist and Colburn School alumna Nokuthula Ngwenyama; remarks from graduating students Maya Leatherer (Undergraduate Speaker) and Fiona Shea (Graduate Speaker); and student performances.

“Mother of Peace” and “Lion” in Zulu, Nokuthula Ngwenyama has garnered recognition as an orchestral soloist, recitalist, chamber musician and composer.  Her performances provide “solidly shaped music of bold mesmerizing character” (Gramophone).  Her music has been performed by the Detroit Symphony, London Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Toronto Symphony, KwaZulu Natal Philharmonic and the Orquesta Nacional de Madrid, amongst others. 

The Conservatory of Music’s Commencement is open to the public and tickets are not required, but we ask that all attendees register their attendance in advance.
