The Trudl Zipper Dance Institute will be holding auditions for ballet, modern, tap, and musical theater. Please note that some dance classes will not be available for registration until after their initial audition date.
Auditions and trial classes will be held at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, CA on August 14, 15, and 22, 2021. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve an audition or trial class spot.
Visitors to campus must comply with Colburn’s on-campus Covid protocols.
The youth ballet program provides rigorous training to both beginners and more advanced students committed to pursuing an intensive and comprehensive dance education.

Auditions for ages 8–9: 10–11 am
Auditions for ages 10–12: 11:15 am–12:30 pm
Auditions for ages 13+: 1–3 pm
The youth modern program is designed to develop a dancer’s artistry and skill. All modern students are required to audition for proper placement.
Trial class for Creative Dance I: 8–9 am
Trial class for Creative Dance II: 9:15–10:15 am
Trial class for Modern I: 9:30–10:30 am
Trial class for Modern II: 11 am–12:30 pm
Auditions for Modern III/IV: 1–2:30 pm
Auditions for Modern IV/V: 3–4:30 pm
Classes in tap provide the opportunity for new and experienced dancers to develop their tap technique in a rigorous training program. All tap students are required to audition for proper placement.
Trial class for ages 8–9: 10–11 am

Musical theater training at the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute focuses on developing well-rounded students who can dance, act, and sing at a high level.

Auditions: 9–11:30 am
Perform two songs in contrasting styles from the Musical Theater canon. The songs must be sung in their entirety, no cuts. Please bring sheet music in your key for your songs, no transpositions upon sight will be made.
Present a 1–2 minute monologue from a play, preferably not a musical.
Group Dance Audition
A group audition will include a brief warm up and a short combination.
Apparel: Ladies, leggings and t-shirt or leotard and jazz or athletic shoes if dance shoes are not available. Gentlemen: sports pants and t-shirt with jazz shoes or athletic shoes if dance shoes are not available. Hair must be pulled away from face.
