As a registered 501(c)3 educational institution, the Colburn School relies on generous contributions from local and national foundations and corporations that also appreciate the role performing arts plays in our culture and the future of the next generation of citizens and leaders. Our programs address a deep need in the Los Angeles community to provide excellence at all levels of arts education and to do so at approachable costs for all talented and committed students from the diverse cultural landscape in Los Angeles.
The Colburn School is fortunate to be on solid financial footing, but we cannot realize our “Access to Excellence” vision on our own. Our foundation and corporate partners help us provide scholarship-based opportunities for students of low-income families. Through the process of learning music, children unlock their creativity, gain self-esteem, and practice life skills that carry over into other aspects of their lives. Thanks to the support of our current partners, the Colburn School provides more than $1 million annually through scholarships and tuition-free educational programs, in addition to a full spectrum of performing arts instruction for students of all ages and levels.
Locally, we are honored to be a part of the Los Angeles community, and we welcome the public to come enjoy hundreds of performances by students and faculty every year. These events are wonderful opportunities for partners to experience the inspiring development of young artists firsthand.
We work with foundations through traditional grant-making processes as well as donor-advised funds and private trusts. Our staff would love to work with you to explore shared outcomes.
For corporations, we tailor benefits to help achieve our shared goals in building strong community partners through engagement opportunities for clients and representatives, performance dedications, and program underwriting.
