Music Academy and Dance Academy students collaborate in this presentation of musically driven choreography.
The program features the first student performance of Jerome Robbins’ The Goldberg Variations, staged by Colburn’s former Dance Dean Jenifer Ringer and set to the iconic score by J.S. Bach. Closing out the program is the premiere of a new work titled Strayhorn Suite. Choreographed by Colburn Dance Dean and Amplify artist Silas Farley, the ballet is set to significant recordings of piano pieces by Billy Strayhorn.
Audiences can also see a filmed version of Strayhorn Suite on Sunday, March 27 during Marlon Martinez’s Amplify Concert, which celebrates the music of Billy Strayhorn.
