“Saving Classical Music” is the 2nd concert of its fundraising series promoting the relevancy of classical music in today’s noisy and distracted world. The goal of this series is to fundraise and keep classical music relevant and showcase the importance of sharing music history, how it’s influenced society over time, and highlight up and coming classical composers . All proceeds from this concert will go towards the MELBA Foundation.

The Melba Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit memorial scholarship organization providing free and/or affordable music education and school supplies to students who are committed and passionate about studying music but live in underprivileged communities. The Melba Foundation was created in memorial of Melba DeJoya Alcazar, a legendary Filipina immigrant that blessed and uplifted the lives surrounding her. She came to America in the 60s to pursue the American dream. Not only did she make that dream come true, she made that dream happen for her friends and her family that immigrated here from the Philippines. Her philanthropic generosity, support and encouragement positively beamed through every person she met. She has helped hundreds of people establish themselves financially and made sure to give back to her community in Romblon, Philippines. Unfortunately, Melba passed away from metastatic breast cancer in 2014, leaving everyone heartbroken. That was the year the idea for The Melba Foundation was born and in October 2022 became official.

Our mission is to keep music alive by offering affordable music education and providing a space for artists and performers to showcase their talents and words.
