Fifth Floor Terrace, Olive Building
On October 2, leading guest dance artists collaborate with Conservatory musicians in an evening that illuminates the creative process.
The performance features a new work choreographed by Dance Dean Silas Farley and set to Nokuthula Ngwenyama’s Sonoran Storm for solo viola; excerpts from Jerome Robbins’ Dances at a Gathering performed to solo Chopin piano works; and a new pas de deux choreographed by Ally Helman to a high-energy brass work by Gabrieli.
In addition to performing, the guest artists will share insights into the works in onstage discussion segments, moderated by Dance Dean Silas Farley.
Tickets for See the Music, Hear the Dance must be purchased separately. Secure your tickets for the performance, and join us for a Colburn Society reception of drinks and small bites on campus with the artists at the end of the evening.
