Ms. Izumi is a former piano faculty member of Seika Women’s Junior College in Japan, the Preparatory Division at Kunitachi College of Music (piano and Dalcroze Eurhythmics) in Tokyo, and The Dalcroze School in Japan.

Mari Izumi received a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance at Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, Japan. She earned her Dalcroze Eurhythmics Certificate and Dalcroze Eurhythmics License under Dr. Hilda Schuster at the Dalcroze School of Music in New York, where she also studied piano performance and chamber music extensively. Ms. Izumi was a scholarship recipient at the Dalcroze School of Music in New York. Her principal piano teachers included Loma Lombardo, Yoko Kono, and Saeko Ikezawa.

Ms. Izumi is a former piano faculty member of Seika Women’s Junior College in Japan, the Preparatory Division at Kunitachi College of Music (piano and Dalcroze Eurhythmics) in Tokyo, and The Dalcroze School in Japan. She is also a former piano accompanist at Santa Monica College and a former senior pianist at the University of California Los Angeles.

Ms. Izumi is an active presenter for Dalcroze Eurhythmics workshops for music teachers throughout Japan and Southern California, including the California State University at Dominguez Hills and the MTAC Long Beach branch. Her Dalcroze Eurhythmics classes in the Early Childhood Department at the Colburn Community School of Performing Arts were highlighted in Los Angeles Times. She is a member of the Dalcroze Society of America and MTAC, and has her expertise in piano pedagogy incorporating Dalcroze Eurhythmics approach.

Ms. Izumi has been teaching piano and Dalcroze Eurhythmics at the Colburn Community School of Performing Arts since 1999. And she began teaching Dalcroze Eurhythmics for the Colburn Dance and Music Academies in 2016.
