Diaspora Arts Connection and Pars Equality Center, Los Angeles, are proud to present "Let Her Sing 2024: A Celebration of Female Voices" in Los Angeles. Eight female vocalists and a group of exceptional musicians will come together on Sunday, September 8, 2024 to celebrate the female voice, suppressed, censored, and threatened in parts of the world

The Zipper Archives at the Colburn School contain over 20,000 artifacts from the remarkable lives of Herbert Zipper and Trudl Dubsky Zipper. Don’t miss this opportunity for an exclusive in-person viewing of the archives and a chance to hear from some of the key players in bringing the collection to Colburn.

PUCCINI100 is a deep dive journey with the great Italian composer to mark the 100th anniversary of his death. Join us for the final session of a lively voyage through Puccini’s life, his era and the timeless melodies that continue to resonate with audiences worldwide.

Canada’s Grammy-nominated ARC Ensemble (Artists of The Royal Conservatory), a group dedicated to the recovery of suppressed and lost 20th century music, performs a program of rarely-heard works for clarinet, piano, and strings. Before the concert, enjoy a pre-talk by Maestro James Conlon, ARC Ensemble's honorary chairman, and Simon Wynberg, the artistic director for ARC Ensemble. Recovered Voices Program Director Adam Millstein will moderate. The Ziering-Conlon Initiative for Recovered Voices is made possible through the generous support of Marilyn Ziering alongside the many donors who are inspired by this incredibly important work at Colburn School. Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations like never seen before in Los Angeles.  

The season opens with an evening of soulful masterworks rife with musical and emotional turmoil. The ever-shifting textures and styles of Nielson's single-movement clarinet concerto are paired Brahms’s Third Symphony, which exudes the composer’s characteristic angst as it alternates between major and minor. The moody prelude to Wagner’s opera Tristan and Isolde rounds out the program.
