Artist Diploma candidate Martha Chan won the 2019 Donald Peck International Flute Competition and the 2019 Colorado Flute Association Young Artist Competition.

Music Academy oboist Fengyang William Ju won first place in the Southern California Junior Bach Festival.

Community School violinist Charmaine Lee was the winner of the Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra Concerto Competition and will perform Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen with the orchestra.

Conservatory violist Cassia Drake (BM) won first prize in the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition.

Community School violinist Sarah Yang won first place in the finals of the 2019 American String Teachers Association Solo Competition.

Percussionist Pat Chapman (PSC) won first place in the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) Timpani Mock Audition.

Community School cellist Amy Jong won first place in the Prodigy Instrumental Category of the Southern California Philharmonic Concerto Competition. She will be performing Dvořák’s Cello Concerto with their orchestra.

Music Academy pianist Carey Byron was invited to compete in the preliminary round of the 2020 Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition (Young Artist).

Community School pianist Daniel Wang won first prize in the state level of the MTNA Junior Piano Performance Competition.

Edouard Beyens (PSC), a Conservatory percussionist, won second place in the PASIC Timpani Mock Audition.

Community School pianist Enni Harlan was the second place medal winner at Southern California Junior Bach Festival “Complete Works Audition.”

Community School guitarist Lyric Woo won third place in the Andriassan Guitar Competition Junior Division held at Cal State LA.
