Rodolfo Leone takes a bow at the 15th International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna.

Rodolfo Leone, Masters of Music Alumnus and current Artist Diploma student, took home first prize and a cash award of 10,000 Euro at the 15th International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna. Read more about Rodolfo’s win.

Music Academy clarinetist Hector Noriega is performing in the prestigious Youth Orchestras of America this summer.

Community School student Victor Shlyakhtenko won first prize in Junior Chamber Music’s Young Musicians Concerto Competition and will perform Chopin’s Concerto No. 1 in E Minor with the Orchestra Collective of Orange County.

Community School student Kate Lee won second prize in Junior Chamber Music’s 2017 Concerto Competition.

Music Academy violinist Sena Cho was featured on NPR’s From the Top.

Community School pianist Ari Chais was one of 12 students in the nation selected for the prestigious Vail Jazz Workshop this summer. He will also participate in a tour with the Thelonious Monk Jazz Institute’s Performing Arts High Schools Jazz All-Stars this summer.

Julian Zheng, 2015 Bachelor of Music and 2017 Performance Studies Certificate alumnus, was appointed principal horn of the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra.

Michelle Feng, 2017 Bachelor of Music alumna, was appointed Associate Principal/Second Oboe of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.

Tommy Morrison, who graduated in 2016 with his Master of Music, was appointed Associate Principal/Second Bassoon of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.

Clarinetist Joseph Morris, 2014 Performance Studies Certificate alumnus, won First Prize at the Ima Hogg Competition.

Timothy Hagen, 2008 Performance Studies Certificate alumnus, was appointed adjunct Professor of Flute at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
