Colburn’s Early Dance Program is designed to foster the love of dance and music in little dancers between the ages of 2 and 6.

Experience the magic of ballet in these 1-week camps for little dancers. Each day will include a pre-ballet class, story time, crafts, and fun with choreography.
Grow in technique and artistry through these multidisciplinary class levels.
The Young Adult Program builds the bridge from foundational dance training to a more conservatory-level rigor and interdisciplinary dance education.
This two-week summer ballet intensive program is designed to provide students with a bridge to connect the end of their year-round training and the start of their longer summer training courses.
Students will also be given an experience of the year-round training in Colburn’s Dance Academy, a rigorous highly personalized pre-professional ballet program that prepares dancers for their individual aspirations by honoring the great traditions of classical ballet and embracing the new and contemporary.
The program includes close work with Colburn’s distinguished faculty, led by Dean Silas Farley, and special guest artists, including legendary teacher Suki Schorer.
Classes will include ballet technique, contemporary, partnering, conditioning, conversations on ballet’s history and evolution, cultural excursions, and learning the repertory of leading choreographers including William Forsythe and Alonzo King. Each student will also receive private coaching.
Colburn’s Modern Dance Program is unique in the quality and diversity of the modern dance techniques offered, including those of Martha Graham, Lester Horton, and Merce Cunningham. This level of specialization is normally accessible only at the university level.
Colburn’s Tap Dance Program is an embodied music eduacation. Students are taught to read percussion music and then physically manifest those rhythms, cultivating their bodies as articulate musical instruments.
No age limit Tuition and Fees: $2,000-$2,550
During this two-week in-person program for advanced violinists, participants will perform for the world’s leading performing artists, master the intricacies of orchestral excerpts, and gain comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of violin performance. The program will also offer a public-speaking component and various other classes, highlighting the value of entrepreneurship and the versatility of a complete musician.

Grades 8–10 Tuition and Fees: $500–$600
The Colburn Jazz Workshop’s Big Band directors, Mr. Lee Secard and Dr. Walter Simonsen, are proud to present a special Summer Jazz Camp. This camp will include daily playing and improvisation, jazz theory, practicing/learning strategies, ear training, and listening to repertoire.
Ages 10+ Tuition and Fees: $570 (discounts available for private lesson students)
The intensive is the equivalent of one year of theory and includes at least an hour of homework each day. Classes meet online multiple days per week in a condensed 4 week program. Students may use this opportunity to advance more quickly through the music theory curriculum offered by the Community School.
Grades 6–12 Tuition and Fees: $800
The Summer Saxophone Camp offers a dynamic musical experience for middle school and high school saxophonists. The camp will include clinics on saxophone fundamentals and techniques, daily warm-ups, master classes, playing in a saxophone ensemble, guest vendor lectures, one-on-one lessons, and student and faculty concerts.
Register by May 9 for priority admission.
Ages 13 and up Tuition and Fees: $2,000–$3,620
During this two-week in-person seminar, piano students will receive expert instruction from Colburn’s talented faculty as well as several renowned guest artists. Participants will play in a weekly studio class, receive two private lessons each week, and have the opportunity to attend master classes and engage with artists such as Maestro James Conlon.
Ages 9–13 Tuition and Fees: $1,500–$1,700
Develop your piano playing skills, engage with experienced Colburn piano faculty, and connect with fellow piano students through classes and performances. Activities include movement classes, group theory, piano literature seminar, private lessons, and a recital performance.
Ages 13–18 Tuition and Fees: $1,250–$2,000
The Colburn Summer Chamber Music Intensive provides focused ensemble playing for the serious chamber music student. Along with rehearsals and coaching, students will participate in stage presence activities, team building, master classes, and other group-building activities.

Ages 10-19 Tuition and Fees: $1,200–$1,300
Led by Colburn Faculty Danielle Ondarza and Mike Zonshine, the Colburn Summer Brass Intensive will offer students the opportunity to perform together in one large brass ensemble in the morning, followed by smaller chamber music groups in the afternoon.
Register by May 20 for priority admission.
Ages 15–18 Tuition and Fees: $1,000–$1,100
Led by Colburn Faculty Ted Atkatz and Ken McGrath, the Colburn Summer Percussion Workshop offers an exceptional week of master classes, private lessons, studio classes, and percussion ensemble rehearsal designed for the high school percussionist.

For high school and college students Tuition and Fees: $1,600
The Musical Theatre Intensive for high school and college artists gives musical theatre artists an exhilarating two-week intensive in dance, acting, and voice with an informal presentation at the conclusion. Led by Colburn faculty with extensive experience in the industry, students will build on their strengths and techniques, as well as their individual skillsets and personalities on stage.

Ages 13–18 Tuition and Fees: $230–$300
The Los Angeles Honor Band is an auditioned ensemble of students from all over Southern California. Participants range from Grade 7-12. The ensemble learns and performs challenging repertoire over the course of two days. Students will also participate in sectionals coached by industry professionals and participate in social activities with other students. Students will have the chance to explore the downtown Los Angeles area and will also have the option of staying the night on the Colburn campus in student housing.
