The Violin Ensemble is an entry-level ensemble for the Community School of Performing Arts pre-college orchestra program. Appropriate for both Suzuki and traditional violin students, an emphasis is placed on introducing orchestral performance techniques, developing musicianship, and reinforcing music theory and reading skills. Approximately 24 student musicians are accepted each year.
Participants must study privately and have basic reading skills (i.e. Joanne Martin, I Can Read Music, Volume 2). No previous orchestral experience is necessary. All new and returning students must audition for placement.
Weekly on Wednesdays, 6–6:40 pm
Auditions have already passed for the 2019–20 academic year. Students interested in auditioning for the Violin Ensemble in the future should fill out an inquiry form. Updates will be sent out when auditions are available.
