Roberta Garten received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in piano performance from the University of Southern California under Joanna Graudan and Nancy Bricard.

Roberta Garten received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in piano performance from the University of Southern California under Joanna Graudan and Nancy Bricard. Born in San Diego, she received her early training from Gaye Smith and Florence Stephenson. She has received many honors, including membership in the Young Artist Guild of the Music Teachers’ Association of California, scholarships from The Musical Merit Foundation of Greater San Diego, and a faculty service award from the Colburn School.

On faculty at the Colburn Community School of Performing Arts since 1982 as staff accompanist, she has also had the privilege of performing throughout the United States, Argentina, Asia, and Spain, where she served as pianist for the Curso Internacional de Música de Benidorm for many years.
