Ryan performs as a member of both the Santa Barbara Symphony and Delirium Musicum Chamber Ensemble, where he is also a co-founder.

Ryan Emerson Baird, DMA began his collegiate double bass studies under Sandor Ostlund, DMA at Baylor University, where Mr. Baird graduated summa cum laude in 2011. Ryan then continued his studies under David Allen Moore at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, earning a Master of Music and a Graduate Certificate before earning his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Double Bass Performance with additional emphases in Musicology, Viola da Gamba Performance, and Arts Leadership.

Along with his regular performances with various regional orchestras throughout Southern California, Ryan performs as a member of both the Santa Barbara Symphony and Delirium Musicum Chamber Ensemble, where he is also a co-founder. Additionally, he has played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Phoenix Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, the USC Baroque Sinfonia, and Thornton Edge contemporary music ensemble.

During the summer months, Ryan has performed at the Texas Music Festival, Domaine Forget in Québec, Kent/Blossom Music Festival, National Orchestral Institute, Vermont Mozart Festival, and the Aspen Music Festival. Ryan has also taught double bass during the summer at the Idyllwild Arts Summer program and Youth Orchestra Los Angeles summer camp.

During his free time, Ryan loves to go trail running in the mountains surrounding Los Angeles and has completed numerous ultramarathons.
