The annual Colburn New Ventures and Social Innovation Competition encourages the entrepreneurial spirit by providing strategic and financial support to students and alumni who wish to launch new business ideas, partnerships, and performance models. Grants from the New Venture Competition can range from $500 to $2,500 per project, and grantees receive a full year of advising from Colburn School staff and faculty.
Previous winners include Brasstache, The Upnote Podcast, and Solar System Symphony.
To enter the competition, students must attend our New Venture Competition workshops. We highly recommend that participants complete the free online micro-course. Awards are announced each spring.
Those interested in participating in this year’s competition may fill out an application below. The 2024 New Ventures & Social Innovation Competition will be held on May 3, 2024 from 2 pm to 4 pm and will include a 3-minute live pitch, followed by a 7-minute panel Q&A.
